Hi Folks!

Nel post di oggi vorrei condividere con voi alcuni miei trucchetti su come contratto in quei paesi dove nei mercati e nei negozi il contrattare è all'ordine del giorno. Per paesi intendo soprattutto quelle nazioni che non fanno parte del "mondo occidentale" dove ci sono negozi con prezzi fissi e quello è e quello si paga.

La mia prima esperienza di contrattazione è stata in Marocco a Fès, dove in un negozio di tappeti artigianali ho trascorso due ore per comprare due tappeti ed ero aiutata da un locale che mi faceva degli ammicchi per farmi capire se continuare a ribassare oppure no: è stato molto divertente! Da quel momento in poi sono diventata fortissima e riesco a portarmi a casa le cose che voglio al prezzo che mi sono prefissata, tant'è che dei marocchini mi hanno pure detto che sono peggio di una berbera e sono spietata, la cosa mi ha fatto molto ridere.

Comunque, bando alle ciance e vediamo se riesco a darvi qualche dritta:

• innanzi tutto bisogna capire quanto costa realmente l'oggetto che vogliamo accaparrarci e questo possiamo scoprirlo facilmente chiedendo ai locali, al gestore di un ristorante o di un albergo, ad un tassista etc... poi se possibile entrare in qualche negozio dove i prezzi sono fissi in modo da farci un'idea;

• Fatto questo, sappiate che il venditore vi dirà sempre un prezzo alto 3 volte tanto il prezzo reale; mettiamo che vogliamo comprarci una statuetta di un Buddha in legno di circa 30cm di altezza, per noi vale 10€ se non pochi euro in più, iniziamo:  

Il commerciante vi dirà 30€

Ribassate ad un prezzo ridicolo in modo da farlo ridere, tipo 5€

A sua volta vi dirà 28€

Continuate rialzando di poco, es. 7€

A sua volta dirà 25€

Continuate rialzando al prezzo che volete pagare, cioè 10€

Il commerciante insisterà sui 25€

Anche voi continuate sui 10€

Se il commerciante non molla rialzate di poco la posta ad esempio dite 15€

Il commerciante insisterà sui 25€

A questo punto la cosa da dire è "LAST PRICE 15€!"

Se accetta è fatta! Altrimenti, se il commerciante continua ad essere restio, fate cenno di andarvene, il commerciante inizierà a ribassare mentre camminate verso l'uscita, NON DEMORDETE, continuate lentamente ad uscire, quando sarete sulla porta vi dirà "OK 15€!" potrebbe anche rincorrevi per la strada pur di vendere!

Da notare che questo funziona 99 volte su 100, il posto dove non sono riuscita a contrattare bene è stata la Turchia, dove era veramente difficile ed infatti non ho comprato niente se non un'insalatiera meravigliosa alla quale non riuscivo proprio a rinunciare, che ho pagato troppo per quello che vale: 42€...sono stata una fessa, giuro però che è veramente unica!

RICORDATE!

• Contrattate sempre con il sorriso sul volto, deve essere un gioco, un divertimento, non una battaglia: se vi ponete in modo sbagliato, magari in modo arrogante, non otterrete niente se non essere cacciati dal negozio!
• Evitate di innervosirvi o scaldarvi troppo, probabilmente vi state impuntando per neanche un euro che a noi non fanno la differenza ma magari a loro sì! Certo non stiamo facendo beneficenza ma neanche siamo degli squali!

Questo è il mio modo di contrattare, nella maggior parte dei casi sono riuscita a comprare ciò che volevo al prezzo che mi ero prefissata, pochissime sono state invece le volte in cui non ho concluso niente; spero dunque di esservi stata utile, se avete domande lasciatele tra i commenti e se avete ulteriori suggerimenti, idem, lasciateli tra i commenti!

Today I'd like to share with you some tips on how I bargain when I travel around countries where this bargain activity is complitely normal. Of course I'm talking about countries around Asia, Africa and so on... 

My first bargain experience has been in Morocco where I bought two carpets with the help of a local man who was making funny faces in order to make me understand if to continue or stop the bargain: it has been very funny! Since that I improved a lot and now I almost get everything I like to buy at the price I want.

So, let's start and buy something!

Let's say you want to buy a little Buddha statue made of wood and 30cm big, in your opinion it worths 10€ or few euros more:

• First of all you need to understand how much that item costs and you can understand that by asking to the locals, the owner of a restaurant or hotel, to a taxi driver and so on, you can also have a look in a shop where there are fixed price, in order to get an idea of the real price;
• Once you've done that, keep in mind that the seller will tell a price which will be three time more expensice then the real one. So, you want to buy this Buddha statue, here it is hot to bargain:

The seller will start saying 30€

You tell a ridicolous price so you make him lough, you say 5€

He goes down a little bit: 28€

You go a little bit up: 7€

25€

You go up and say the price you want to pay: 10€

Seller will stay on 25€

You stay on 10€ too

If the seller doesn't let go, try to put some euros more, say 15€

Seller will insist with 25€

At this point you say "LAST PRICE 15€"

If the seller accepts, great! Otherwise say politly goodbye and start to go towards the exit, you'll see that the seller will star to go down with price, DON'T GIVE UP, continue to walk away, once you'll be at the exit the seller will say ok for 15€!

In my case, this technique worked most of the time, 99/100, only in Turkey I was really unable to bargain!

REMEMBER

• Always bargain with a smile on your face! It's a game, not a battle: if you get in a place with the wrong attitude you won't get anything and the local could send you out by kicking you *** !!
• Avoid to get nervous, maybe you are discussing and bargaining for even less then 1€ which it doesn't change anything to us, but could make the difference to the locals! I know we are not reach, but we are not sharks too!
